It has been a long time since I’ve been to Angono. High school pa ata ‘yung huli. More than that, I’ve been only once to their “bayan,” given that I’m just ten pesos away from there.
Searching for cafes in Rizal brought me to Lava Mocha Cafe. It seemed to hold two themes—one bearing Angono’s Higantes Festival and the other showcasing My Little Pony.
Directions
Ride a jeep labeled Angono. Tell the driver to drop you at Angono Public Market. Walk toward Pandayan Bookshop. Walk Dona Aurora Street until you reach Lava Mocha Cafe.
Place
As I’ve said, the place seemed to have two themes. The first floor contained paintings and masks, seemingly conveying Angono as the art capital of the Philippines as well as their Higantes Festival.
We stayed upstairs at My Little Pony Cafe since, compared downstairs, it was air-conditioned. There were cute mushroom cushions, onesies, and other My Little Pony stuffed toys. The walls were painted baby pink and sky blue, truly portraying My Little Pony vibes.
I wasn’t able to check if there was a comfort room or if they had WiFi, but I was glad they were open until 11:00 p.m.
Food
Their rice meals are relatively affordable. Their pork sisig only cost Php 90.00, and if you add Php 9.00, you’ll get unlimited rice. For my drink, I ordered overload chocolate worth Php 149.00.
