I’ve never been to Jalajala, so I was nervous and excited at the same time. Good thing Personas Cafe replied to my text message, wherein I asked about directions. Note that I left at 11 a.m. and arrived at the cafe at 2 p.m. Really proud of myself on how dedicated I was to Kape Tayo, Rizal. At dahil diyan . . . na-tour ko na buong Rizal! Yehey!
How to Go to Personas Cafe
Ride an Antipolo-Tanay jeep and then tell the driver to drop you off at Tanay palengke, near the jeepneys going to Pililia. Ask around where to ride a jeepney going to Bayugo, and then open your Google Maps and pin “PMSI Commercial Building,” which is the location of the cafe.
I suggest that you go a little earlier if you’re a lone commuter like me. According to the residents nearby, jeepneys going to Jalajala bayan travel only up to 5 p.m. Since it was past 5 p.m. when I left the cafe, I had to ride a tricycle going to Malaya, which was thrice the fare of a jeepney ride. The jeepney I rode in Malaya dropped me off at Tanay palengke, wherein I found Crossing jeepneys.
What to Expect in Personas Cafe
I wasn’t able to take a picture in my Fuji camera, but BTS standees welcomed me as I went up the second floor. The doors, the walls, even the ambiance had purple hues, reminiscent of the famous K-pop boy band BTS.
Pictures of the handsome and talented boys surrounded the whole cafe. Pillows of BT21, charming characters created by the iconic K-pop group in collaboration with Line Friends Creators, were lined up at the edge.
Their comfort room was clean, PWD-friendly, and complete with bidet and flush. They also have an outdoor dining area (apologies, as I didn’t have pictures taken from my Fuji cam, but I took several in my camera phone, which I posted on Kape Tayo, Rizal’s page).
What made this experience unique was the woman in the cafe who served foods and drinks. Aside from the fact that she lent me a special edition of BTS’s photobook, she also shared about the sunflower farm and other tourist spots; it made me think of how proud she was of Jalajala. She was also the photographer behind my favorite pictures!
What to Eat in Personas Cafe
They had no meals, but small snacks, such as corndogs and brownies, were available. One piece of corndog (PhP 60), two pieces of brownies (PhP 15 each), and a cup of dark mocha frappe (PhP 90) were enough during my three-hour stay.
